About me

This post is inspired by 1 of the blogs I follow and love which belongs to Miss Kaylah.

My name is Kapi (Pronounced like the word happy) I feel the need to clarify that only because some people tend to pronounce my name as "copy" :(
I am 26 years young, Will be 27 on August 5th.
I currently reside in upstate Central New York, Rome to be exact,
With My Husband Jesse of 7 years and like 4 months, and our 4 kitty cats, Souxsie 8 a Tortie, Blondie 7 a Tabby and Nuby and Misfit both 2 yrs and some(they were born in the same liter), Nuby is a tabby and misfit is a tortie. We love dogs too and have had a few before but our current living sittuation(renting) does not really allow room for any.

I was born and raised In Honolulu Hawaii and lived there until the summer of 2003.
I met my husband Jesse in November of 2002, we spent pretty much everyday together after meeting and fell in love pretty quick. He proposed about 2 weeks after we met and we were married on December 19th of 2002. And from that point everything was a bit of a whirlwind.
Jesse was in The U.S Army at the time so we had to go where they said basically.

I Love reading first and foremost it's a bit of an obsession almost.
I also love body art and modification and am currently in progress on my own.
I dye my hair a lot!! Manic panic's Red, purple and black are my usual's, I also want to be a hair stylist and going to cosmetology school is something on my to do list that I need to stop putting off.
I love creating and crafting. I sew, embroider, paint and knit. I would love to figure out crocheting also!! I just have the hardest time with getting it down.
I hate and am horrible at math, it literally gives me anxiety.
I am horribly afraid of moths!
I love the colors: Red, Aqua and Pastel Yellow.
I need music like I need water and air, the types of music I love are Punk, Gypsy Punk, Rock, Psychobilly, Rockabilly, Reggae, Some dance hall, Oldies and Some jazz.

That's pretty much all I can think of for now as far as basic info goes :)

Long time no Blog.

It's been over a year since my last post, wow! It was also a crazy year.
We moved, still in the same dinky town just in a new apartment.
I joined a Roller Derby league back in January of 2009, and that basically consumed my life!
But now that I am kinda pulling away from that a bit I can get back to having a life, haha! :)
Lots to update about and I think for spring maybe a blog re-vamp too!
Still crafting, mostly embroidery lately, but still loving all of them.
And I am working at a local sub and wing shop now, part time but it's a paycheck and the schedule allows me time to get my behind back in school which I need to do!!

Apron for vintage apron swap.

So my partner received her apron yay! And loved it, I am so glad. I had fun making this one, and the ruffles were a new venture for me. But I am glad I know how to do those now.
The pattern was Butterick's 6567 view D.
As for the other swaps I am doing I will be done with a 2nd item today for my partner in the mini holiday swap. After I do my homework :( boo on homework! haha!

On another note we picked up a Christmas tree yesterday! It's purty, and it is almost finished settling so I'd say by this evening I should be able to put on lights and the ornaments will be added over the week :) I love waking up to the house smelling like Christmas tree!!

Cheesy Spinach & Garlic Lasagna

Yummy Cheesy goodness! We got a good amount of snow today here and it was quite blustery. So some comfort food like this was definitely in order! It was a very simple bake compared to the lasagnas I usually make. Spaghetti sauce, ricotta spinach and garlic mix and lots of mozzarella!

I am still waiting on my partner to receive her apron from me, I hope she does soon!! I am anxious to see if she likes it!! I sure hope she does, And I will post pics once she receives.
I also joined 2 other swaps "mini holiday swap" we have our partners for that and I have brainstormed 2 out of the 3 things I wanna make for my partner. I just have to get the supplies and everything. I also joined the TNBC X-MAS swap! We get partners for that tomorrow I think, yay!!

Also my turkey is done defrosting, I think. It definitely feels like it. I am glad because I was worried it would not have defrosted in time. Yay thanksgiving, I am looking forward to it fer sure! Black Friday as well :) Joann's opens at 6 am and I will be in the parking lot by 5:50am!! hehehe!

Chicken Katsu Curry

Is what was for dinner last night. With rice of course. Chicken Katsu is another popular local fav dish back home. Served either with Katsu dipping sauce or with Curry stew poured over top the chicken katsu. We usually prefer it with the dipping sauce, But I was craving it the curry way last night. As I said in the previous post plate lunches are served with rice and mac salad back home, and I forgot the mac salad last night. So about 2 bites of chicken in dear hubby goes "Honey no mac salad? :( " Me: Sorry Hunny I forgot, oops, lemme get ya some from the fridge. Hehehe! He is so cute and surprises me at the oddest times.

Here is a chicken katsu recipie for anyone interested.
For the curry all I used was a box of the golden curry mix, it's all I ever use and prefer personally. Most local grocers carry it.

On a crafty note, I am almost done with my partners apron for the vintage apron swap rd 2 on craftster. I just have to add the waist band/ties and some last minute touches. I hope my partner likes it! I am loving it myself, I think I may have to make one for myself too ;) With different fabric probably though.
And I joined another swap too, the mini holiday swap rd 2. Looks fun!
Swaps really are addicting :)

L&L Lemon chicken.

L&L is a popular local restaurant back home in Hawaii, And one of our favorite's!
And one of Jesse's favorite dishes there is their Lemon chicken, So I made that for dinner tonight.
Complete with the dipping sauce and served the way all plate lunches are served back home, with rice and mac salad!! Mmmm-yum!!

Sunday nights are always our special nights because we have a nice dinner and get quality time together. Dear hubby loved it and wants to take leftovers for lunch tomorrow :) I am glad he enjoyed!

Here is a link to the recipe for anyone interested.

Swap fun!

So I joined the vintage apron swap on craftster, I was bummed I missed out on the first round so I was extra happy I made this one! And I have already received, I was the first to. I am not even finished with my partners apron yet!!!
But here is my apron I got from stitch81 on the right.
I am almost done with my partners apron who is mollygirl (I got in a round robin group for this swap) Pretty cool, instead of getting to know one person I get to know two.
I will post pics once I send and my partner has received, I really hope she likes it, quite a bit of anxiety on this!!

On other news we took misfit(the youngest kid-tie in the clan) to get spaded on Wednesday, and she is doing really good. Her recovery time was almost non-existent. Hubby's new job is going great he loves it, And I am doing well with school as well.

Back to crafty-ness, I found lots of cute christmas fabric to make ornaments with, I am going to make some of the mittens here on disdressed's blog.
I think a lot of the folks on my Christmas list will like them.

And I made a listography today, I really like it, lots of fun!

Roasted Citrus Herb Ginger Garlic Chicken

Super long name but super yummy chicken.
Maybe I'll change the name, But for now I like it :)
Dear Hubs loved it, I wanted the tops to be a little bit browner but any longer in the oven and it would have been dry because of the type of pan I used. Next time deeper pan. I was not happy with the "out of the oven" pic so here is a leftover bowl pic :)
Super juicy and nummmy!!!
I'll scan the recipe from my book in my next entry :)

Braided rug fun.

I spent the better half of my Sunday afternoon working on a braided rug. I prepared the fabric for it about a month ago but finally got around to starting it. I plan on making it a little bit bigger still, maybe another 6-8 inches. Hopefully this weekend I will have time to work on it again.
I am loving the finished look of it :)
That's about it in the craft world lately.

Rearranging and Organization

So past couple of days I spent rearranging the apartment and organizing stuff. As well as homework and sewing :) Finally getting our computer/craft/hobby room organized got me in the mood to make some new makeup bags and such. They are still in progress but I will be putting them up on my (neglected for so long) Etsy shop.
Here is something I finished today that I will be sending to a friends daughter. It's about 8x6 1/2 all cotton and the anchor is embroidered on baby blue felt and the other lil bubbles are the same felt as well., with a button closure. It makes me think of her and I hope she likes it :)
Also helped the hubby update his resume today and post it, and man it was a pain trying to get it posted onto monster for some reason.
Anyway, beautiful fall weather out, an evening walk would be nice fer sure.
And I have been craving bread pudding, but not just any bread pudding my late Mumsie's bread pudding and I think I have finally figured out all the ingredients so we shall see how it turns out....Fingers crossed =D

Yay Fall!

Fall is definitely here. It's super chilly out, we had to close up all our windows and storm windows today cause it's chilly in the apartment. I had a fun filled day of homework, Gotta stop putting it off till the last minute like this. But all done and ready to turn in tomorrow so it's all good. Now I can watch the VP debate and get some crafting in too! I should finish my one unfinished wrist warmer so I can wear them. And here is a pic of the purse I finished a couple of days ago. I got the cute rainbow heart fabric from Joann's in the red tag section and the lining and handle is red cotton, I still have not added some kind of closure because I am debating on a snap or a button, we shall see. And my sewing is getting better too :) Less rushed and neater! Yay for that.

Manassas VA.

So we are here for the next couple of days, for Jesse's work. I'm gonna research the bus lines and stuff today so tomorrow I can go and see some stuff. Manassas itself is a historic town, and we are right outside of DC so I wanna see if I can take the metro closer or something and go see the Smithsonian and stuff. And I slept sooo good last night better than I have in months! Well besides when I was at Hollie's too :) Had some complimentary fruit for breakfast it was ehhhh ok.

Ahhh relaxed!

I love vodka......and tequila......and beer but mainly vodka at the moment.
It definitely helps me unwind and block out the bs and arguing that is the make up of the environment that is currently my living situation. But this to shall pass right... so everything is gonna be alright. Moral of the story? I love vodka :) And crafts I made lots of fun stuff tonight, pics tomorrow. Going to Manassas VA on Monday till Thursday too. Yay I love roadtrips!!

Welcome 2008!

Snowy NY :)

New year, New beginnings. Who doesn't love a new start? I for one am definitely glad that this new year is finally upon us. Time to put the old behind us as memories, some sad some bad but mostly great and fun! A lot has changed in the past 6 months I must say. Here we are in Delaware starting over and starting our lives basically. Jesse has finally found a good job and I am doing the school thing so I can find a good one too. And best of all coming up very shortly here we should be able to get our own place. And while I love and appreciate Jesse's dad for helping us out until we got on our feet, I absolutely can not wait to get back into a place of our own. We are too old for this living situation and our poor kitties are confined to one single room 24/7. But I do know everyday that we are blesses regardless and I am grateful. So we went up to NY to see H and C for new years. Had a great time it was lots of fun. Wish the sun had of been out a little bit more but oh well. at least it came out on the day we were leaving finally. New years eve was quite calm and chill, a nice end to the past mostly chaotic year for sure!

Fall!!! Finally!!!

God I love fall!! The smell, the scenery, the feeling!!!
It's such a change(of the seasons) A much needed change quite frankly. And I love how at the beginning of a new season it really does feel like you are starting over :) Each new season is a new start(how nice!)
So I am registering for classes on Monday gonna get the ball rolling on that, so that hopefully 6-9 months from now I will have a good paying job and driving off the lot in my VW R32!!!! Yeah baby!!! That's right went to a dealership today and totally fel in love with it, so so so comfortable and the first car ever that I sat in and don't need to have the seat all the way up like half an inch from the steering wheel to reach the pedals. My new baby has 250 horsepower and 236 lb ft torque and a six-speed auto tranny. And she is just ohhhhh so pretty and comfy!!!! and pedal pushers on steering wheel yay!!!! So gotta make out a new goal sheet cause I deffinitely got some new goals to accomplish now!!!

Crafty pants!

It's raining!!
It's pouring!!
You know the rest.
The rain came out of nowhere today, But we totally needed it. Maybe now it will actually start to feel like fall, Instead of feeling like august in October! So lots of updates because I have not posted in awhile. I made my first sale on my etsy store (username:sweetlysedated) New stuff added all the time! It was a striped makeup pouch with a red heart appliqué and velcro closure. I had so much fun making it :) Made a bunch of knitting stitch markers, But just put up a few to see how they do. And did my first swap on craftster ever! It was an OTT(one tiny thing) swap. I made my partner a little green box with polymer clay leaves and leaf stitch markers, Cause she likes trees leaves bird nature type things :) And she made me an awesome cherry appliquéd coin purse-y Which I love love love! (Pics at top) And now that it is getting cooler I actually want to work on some knitting so I will be doing that soon, Gotta go get some yarn though. Gonna make some beanies for my friend going back to Iraq, Because it is chilly there this time of year :(
Kitties are good and so is the lover! Yay fall!!!
